What if there was an app that could fight sexism? Well now there is!
On top of their daily struggle for parity and equality in the workplace, women everywhere, from Madam Michu to Hilary Clinton, often fall victim to a kind of verbal violence - considered harmless by their male colleagues - which consists of being constantly interrupted by men. The anglo-saxon world calls this “Manterrupting”.
To raise awareness of this hidden phenomenon, BETC Sao Paolo has created an app called Woman Interrupted, enabling women to keep track of how often they are interrupted in a conversation.
As Gal Barrada (CEO, BETC Sao Paolo) puts it: “What’s the point of having more women in meeting rooms if no one listens to what they have to say?”
