To mark the publication of the 50th "100 Photos for Press Freedom" album, dedicated to the photographer Robert Capa, Reporters Sans Frontières is unveiling their latest campaign.
War has two faces. Its official face is retouched and sanitized by the military staff. Its other face is violent, brutal and - real. Every day, thousands of independent photo-reporters across the world work to reveal that face, often at great personal risk, and ensure that the truth is never forgotten or trivialised.
Conceived by RSF, the film illustrates the absolute necessity of supporting a profession that works for the truth. And it reminds us that simply making a donation at rsf.org can make a big difference. For the photographers themselves, but also and above all, for the subjects of their photographs. Because, to quote the photo-journalist James Natchwey, "A photo can engrave an event in the memories of people and so, perhaps, help avoid a repetition of that event."
