The Nuit Blanche (all-nighter in French) - it’s that modern art event where Parisians get together one night every year to explore a unifying artistic theme on the streets of Paris.
Because it’s modern art, you’ll need a map to guide you through the narrative and find your bearings in the various expos. Only problem: paper maps for Paris art events tend to be sketchily labeled and unreadable at nighttime, and often end up as litter. Even if you don’t lose it, there’s a good chance you’ll go home disappointed.
For the 2016 vintage of the Nuit Blanche, BETC has changed all that: meet the Instagram map! The first of its kind, this interactive map makes cunning use of the famous triple columns of the social media site known for its square photos. Scroll along a virtual river Seine to get a preview of artists and their works before getting out there to enjoy them in the flesh - and follow the event on a timeline illustrated by the artist SOBA.
